Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & EMDR in London and Online

When you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or finding that trauma or difficult past experiences are still affecting you and your relationships

Nayo Butler-Puttock, psychodynamic psychotherapist and EMDR therapist in London

A space to think about what is troubling you, understand yourself more deeply, and explore what you might like to change.

People come to therapy for many different reasons.

You may be affected by past experiences that still feel painful, difficulties in relationships, or find it hard to express your needs and set boundaries.

You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, low, disconnected, or simply stuck and unsure how to move forward.

You don't need to know exactly what the problem is to begin therapy

I work with a range of emotional, relational and life difficulties. Some of the areas I can help with include:

How I Can Help

Trauma & difficult experiences

Making sense of experiences from the past that continue to affect you now.

Relationships & self-esteem

Exploring difficulties in relationships, boundaries, confidence and how you feel about yourself.

Anxiety, overwhelm & low mood

Support with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, low, disconnected or emotionally exhausted.

My approach is psychodynamic. This means paying attention to what is happening for you now, while also thinking together about how earlier experiences and relationships may still be affecting the way you feel, think and relate to others.

My Approach

HOW I WORK

Therapy is a process of reflection, curiosity and gradual change.

EMDR THERAPY

When the Past Still Feels Present
EMDR therapy for trauma and difficult experiences

EMDR works with difficult memories, emotions, beliefs and physical sensations to help process experiences that continue to affect you. It can be particularly helpful when you understand why you feel or react in a certain way, but talking and understanding alone haven't shifted how the experience continues to affect you.

Sometimes we understand what happened to us, but our mind and body still respond as though it is happening now
